Question of the week: What can I do to Help or Make a difference?
this note is to my friend Bruce, who knows we All dance to that special little BEAT in our heads
 March to the Tune of your Own Drummer I always say, and as MATTIE J.T.STEPANEK wrote, and Billy Gillman sings on "Music Through Heartsongs"! ( Mattie Lost his battle June 22nd 2004 ) He wrote six books, and was a good will ambassador. He passed at age 14, but left Powerful Footprints on this Earth by the age of 10. Rest in Peace Sweet Angel.. WE HEARD YOUR VOICE.. And Your HEART SONG.

Starting with the very basics in everyday life:
Each Day when you wake up.. Be THANKFUL for WHAT YOU DO HAVE.
Find something POSITIVE about your day, regardless of how big or small.
Remember to SMILE when you answer the phone and cross people's paths.
LOVE your friends and Family.
LISTEN to the people in your life that are coming to you just needing to talk, NOT everyone is looking for an answer, an EAR and be JUST all it takes!
Take time to STOP and enjoy a Sunrise or Sunset..
Really Stop and think about those things, they are ALOT to ask for a " BUSY"
lifestyle, but trust me, if you are not doing those basic things.. you are not doing NEARLY enough in your OWN life...

THAT'S HELPING!!!
For years I have known people online who are embarrassed to talk about THE truth because of being ridiculed.. it's not abnormal, it's society...
Are people even aware that many people in wheel chairs CANNOT lift their heads to LOOK at people who are talking AT them or around them to even know IF they are being spoken to? It's not RUDE to be in a seated eye level to speak to someone in a wheel chair, and we are NOT offended by people holding the door open.. THANK you for those that still do.. I am only 41 and remember when there where MEN Holding the door open for Ladies, of course that was GENTLEMEN and " ladies" not male and female < cough cough>
I would SO Love to have anyone List an Excuse why they could not even donate ONE part of ONE day a Month to ONE of these things PER MONTH.. I have enough here to cover several countries and Just about any interest you can think of.. Can't find one, I WILL FIND ONE FOR YOU.. Challenge me =) It is rumored that some kids in Texas challenged their Governor to Race their Governor of Calif.. ARNIE =) to a wheel chair race.. the Gov of Tex. allegedly has declined..
Knowing How Maria Shriver is, I know Arnold Schwarzenegger ( After School and Special Olympics Programs ) had a Great reason to do it!
Listen to your heart song.. What are you passionate about? Do You like to Read? Find out about reading for Books on Tape Braille Institute ( Transcribers ) List of sites Shut -ins regardless of the situations. Reading to people or children in Hospitals] Helping children read or Adults, at literacy programs Volunteer Centers. Volunteers of America ( Call your local Community Center, or church) Go to the local Schools and Volunteer for the after-school tutoring or mentoring.. Lots of these kids, and their parents have many needs... Do you excel At MATH or another type of educational need? Apply at the same as above... Yes Most places AS they should, REQUIRE some sort of back ground check.. WOULD you NO want the same thing for any child you know, and a situation they may be in?? YESSS It's worth the time.. What is your passion? your Joy? Your hobby?? Why can't this be shared with someone who would SO appreciate the time you are spending with them.. the very fact that someone actually Cares enough to be there...? ANY Church in your area, Many Salvation Army, City Youth programs, Local Schools, Local Rehabilitation Centers, and State, and Local Institutions for the disabled, orphaned, and children without parents... Learn to be a trainer for Aide dogs ( pets) that are used for a wide range of needs now...many different sizes breeds and a variety of needs in raising and training phases.. Help has something for everyone.. Assistance Dogs International, Inc American Dog Training Network ( Listed By State )
HOME is NOT always where the heart is... it can be our prison, especially even more so when you are all alone with people in it.. Get nosey.. Get to know your neighbors.. If you see a caretaker coming by once a day or something and never anyone else.. INTRODUCE yourself.. ASK if there is an alarm system, of if YOUR NEIGHBOR has anyone to contact because you noticed that the health care workers are the only visitors, and no one else comes and goes, go say hello and ASK if there is anything you can do.. LET the local churches know about this person, so at least they have a choice to tell people no thank you , than to know no one comes by, and no one cares, they are truly alone..
So many people think HELPING = $$ Well, there is an answer for that too, and did you know it's even TAX deductible?? Better YET.. why don't you really make it matter.. Go to local Youth clubs in your area, Like a good karate club.. ask if you can sponsor a child.. It's tax deductible.. If you are owner of a small business, the larger the better ;-) you can sponsor People, clinics, Whatever you choose.. Sponsor Children, sponsor Wards, sponsor a certain FUND, like, For wheel chairs for people that cannot get them covered by insurance.. Make competition with your employees on donated hours to public service a month.. or funds donated to charity, for a night out.. gift certificate, write it off.. Find Homes in your area you can see need improving, and you can see it's because, or you can find out it's because there is elderly/disabled person(s) in that home... and gather children, employees, other neighbors to do a yard clean-up day, and just make it happen.. Don't tell me that will not make a difference. but do it with love, not Eww you can tell your yard is yucko.. They already know that and under the weeds you can probably see yards that used to be well loved.. going to hit the hay y'all.. love and huggles **********

Becoming aware of REALITY is the best thing we can do...
I speak of Belief.. I say go to Churches Ect..
Well Honesty is always the Best Policy...
My Faith is in MY
 I have sought GOD in many BUILDINGS.. but I find MY Serenity all around me.. so When I say go to a CHURCH, I am talking about Your Community resources.. The place of your choice of Worship.. If you do NOT, Fine, they STILL are there to help others.. They do not care what denomination you are, or bother you to convert, they NEED HELP, everyday, not just during the holidays..
Salvation Army, Goodwill, Look in your Phone Book, the Front Section of your Community Section has all sorts of Numbers for YOUR HOME area that NEED YOUR HELP..
MAKE A Difference WHERE YOU Live.. INVOLVE your Children, Your Grandchildren.. Your Neighborhood kids..
Get the PTA Involved.. Talk to the teachers at school, Like we all did for 9-11..
Don't wait for tragedies to happen.. NOW IS THE DAY.. TODAY is all we Have, tomorrow is Just a Dream, Yesterday is over..
LEARN Form Yesterday
LIVE for Today
HOPE for Tomorrow
 I see in my future parents teaching their children compassion, and a reason for giving again.. I see people doing for other's not looking away, in FEAR of the bad guys, or Indifference, and "it can't happen to me syndrome" or even " They must have done something stupid to end up LIKE THAT!"

Heck, If you just start talking it about it, that is HELPING... Making people aware that this isn't a tragedy here or there, or something you rarely see on the street, it's Millions of people's lives that = that FEW %
Even the reality that there are so many in the System "of taking",
[ people frauding SYSTEMS, hurting the people with real need and stealing tax dollars, criminals],
that can be stopped by computer programming,
[there are MANY disabled, yet able MINDED people who are CAPABLE of MAKING and USING these SYSTEMS to Monitor such things against the SYSTEM, and FOR the SYSTEM to Prevent Loss by Misuse and Improper management
to WATCH the dollars being spent IN FRAUD, we would not go broke that way.. We Tell our Children to tell an adult if people , or kids do something wrong, BECAUSE it's the right thing to do... But WHY is it we are not willing to GET INVOLVED when other's are BREAKING laws, at the cost of MILLIONS or BILLIONS when we Know darn well people are committing FRAUD?? REPORT Them!! We tips and many other programs will even give you a Reward anonymously, if you must be rewarded that way.. it's your money these FRUADERS are stealing too.. shrug it off.. It's called. DOING the RIGHT THING!!
The Millions being spent on SSI and SSDI to people in Prisons, Illegals who have come here ONE day, and been put on SSI never having paid a penny into the system. and the BILLIONS being spent on FREE medical. and Medical to Indigent ILLEGALS that are spent, when People on SSI ( senior citizens) cannot get anything because they where house wives and mothers or whatever, and the case, TRULY.. EVEN ONE DOLLAR too much in anything to get extra services. Like me, when my kids are 18, I will not be able to live on my own, and in no way able to take care of myself. that maybe gives me 6 yrs left in the family home I thought I had made for my children.. so I have to make EACH day Our lives together..
People need to know know who their neighbors are.. make sure that the local churches ect.. KNOW who the shut -in's are, whether it's age or disability, no one deserves to be in this world truly alone...
Not only does habitat for Humanity help some people a New start at a life, it can also come in and fix things for people ECT.. HOME MAKEOVER is not the only place to do this.. PEOPLE can and there are organizations EVERYWHERE that you can look into.. PICK your favorite IN YOUR area.. Pick a cause that has something to with someone in your life, or someone's dream that inspired you, what that person was passionate about..
I have done several of these, and they STILL are in great condition nearly ten years later, Kids and their parents help, the whole community did, and they keep it that way.. IT WAS A BLAST TO DO TOO!

Fund Raisers ( I suggest you check these out FIRST ) not all are legitimate I am SURE!

We getting the idea yet? This isn't really a solo job yet you can go alone, so there is no excuse there either... but doing it as a family RIGHT thing to do instills POSITIVE Values for generations to come... POSITIVE traditions!! = Positive Influence = Positive outcome more than 50% of the time, You just cannot LOSE!!!
Get together with your town counsel and MAKE a fundraiser walk-a thon type program to HELP the needy of your own COMMUNITY, have Library book sales that go to it, Old fashioned Bake off raffles.. BE CREATIVE like the web pages I see.. HECK, Have a It's a great way to meet people in your neighborhood, Clean up your town, in many cases Take BACK your town, bri ng back, HOME TOWN Spirit and Pride... Have a Big ad in the city news papers..
RECYCLE newspapers at the school for these things, get the kids involved..
We drove our parents crazy filling up the station wagons saving the rainforests with the paper drive.
Save your change.. Donate it to a fundraiser for a worthy cause.. Nothing you deem worthy, go to your local town hall, and MAKE a Cause for your area that IS WORTHY.. make that sad lil HUGE town, a good place to live again..
Be scared people at what COULD be happening with Medicare taking over our prescriptions, it might be a good thing, but STAY ALERT!!.. Think how bad Medical is.
Just by caring and being informed, the masses make a difference, by spreading the word.. One Voice at a time..

People can HELP by donating their time and SWEAT LABOR, Business can donate supplies and staff and labor, Churches can do fundraisers... these things NEED to be asked for because the System just IS NOT in the Caring MODE.. Not enough money and whatever. it's not according to the ADA, American's With Disabilities Act it's according to the BUDGET.. so USE THE VOLUNTEER Sites AVAILABLE.. HUD [ Housing and Urban Development ] has to put you on the TOP of the LIST if you are disabled and IN NEED of SAFE and FAIR housing... You go above the waiting list for the poor and the ones with ten kids, scuse me.. but few people are less poor than seniors and disabled o fixed income.. another HUD FAX sheet resource I have many HELP sites on my page, and am able to be contacted by email, and via telephone if needed, I can even call you..
